John, Madison & Amanda Lorentzen

While Paul and Abigail were in Anchorage for one of Abigail's last orthodontist appointments, they met John Lorentzen and two of his kids, Madison and Amanda.  They were in Anchorage ministering in churches in the area.  Madison is 18 and he plays the guitar and the harmonica and write songs.  Amanda is 15 and she plays the violin and the guitar and also writes songs.  It turns out they are from North Dakota about 200 miles West of Hope, ND where Paul grew up. They've got 10 kids that they home school and they also lived in Port Alsworth for a summer in 1997.  

Paul invited them out to visit us in Nondalton.  Below they are flying out in our C-172.

After Madison and Amanda finished their concert, David Martin, Abigail, Deborah, Quentin and little David joined in and they had a great time playing together.

All too soon it was time for them to go.  Paul flew them to Port Alsworth where they gave a concert at Jeremy & Michelle Davis' house and then played in church on Sunday.

Brad & Rebecca visit Nondalton

Brad and Rebecca lived in the apartment next to us for the summer we both lived in Port Alsworth, Alaska.  Brad is a pilot and mechanic and they live in Indonesia where he flies for Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF).  They were just home on furlough and were able to come see us in Nondalton before we left on our trip.  It was great fun visiting with them and hearing about life in Indonesia.  

They've got a little boy named Evan who is just a little older than Sarah.   They were so cute playing together.

They are back in Indonesia now and we pray that God will continue to use them there.

Anna & Paul's Birthdays

Anna turned 10 on April 8th.  While she's growing up to be a beautiful young lady, right now she can still climb trees with the best.

Paul celebrated his 47th birthday on April the 10th.  We didn't have enough candles for his sour cream and raisin pie, so we used what we had which keeps him at 29...  

I praise God for a husband who loves the Lord and loves to have fun with his kids.

He grows wiser every year!

Liard Hot Springs

Liard Hot Springs ranks right up at the top with the Whitehorse Aquatic Center as one of our favorite spots to stop on the ALCAN.
Menda is walking with Elizabeth and Nezzie on the boardwalk to get from the parking lot to the hot springs. They had just finished clearing off the 6 inches of snow they'd gotten the night before.

We are at Paul's sister Debbie's house in Grafton now. We went to Perham MN to visit Paul's Grandmother. She just turned 97 on Saturday. I'll get some pictures and post them as soon as I can. Deborah is still taking one Benadryl at night as the rash is still hanging in there. It's not too bothersome as long as she takes the Benadryl. Please pray with us that it will completely disappear.

Whitehorse Aquatic Center

One of our favorite places to stop on the ALCAN is in Whitehorse at the aquatic center. It's awesome. They've got a huge pool with a rope swing and lots of water fun for the kids. Since we were there five years ago they've added three hockey rinks, a soccer field and a running track. But, the best part is that the whole family use all of it all day for $16.20. It's a great deal for a big family. Quentin

They had the best baby rafts I've ever seen. They were extremely sturdy. I towed Sarah and Benjamin all over the place.
Everyone loved the rope swing. The big kids loved swinging on it and the little kids loved watching there dads swinging on it.




We are now at Paul's mom's house enjoying spring. We're going to go visit his grandmother today. She turned 97 yesterday.
